The Western Entrance to Thrikodithanam Temple
Thrikodithanam Mahavishnu Kshetram is administered by the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB). TDB is an autonomous body under Government of Kerala, entrusted with 1194 temples which were earlier controlled by the ruler of Travancore, prior to the integration of the Princely states in 1949.
At present TDB administers 1206 temples which are classified into four categories -
- Major Temples (224) - opened in the morning and evening, three poojas daily
- Minor Temples (456) - Opened in the morning and evening
- Petty Temples (467) - Opened once a day
- PD(?) Temples (59 ) - Once a year (?)
Thrikodithanam Mahavishnu Kshetram is classified as a "Major Temple".
